Pisco, located in the heart of the majestic Cordillera Blanca, is one of the most iconic destinations for mountaineering enthusiasts. Standing at an altitude of 5,752 meters (18,871 feet), this mountain is renowned for offering unparalleled panoramic views of legendary peaks such as Huascarán, Alpamayo, and Artesonraju.

Its ascent route is both accessible and appealing, making it an excellent choice for beginner and experienced mountaineers alike. The west peak was first ascended on July 12, 1951, by C. Kojan, G. Kojan, R. Leininger, and M. Lenoir.

Day 1: Huaraz (3,052 m) - Cebollapampa (3,900 m) - Pisco Base camp

Day 3: Base camp - Cebollapampa - Huaraz
On this final day, we will hike to Cebollapampa, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz.

  • Briefing: Before your expedition, you will have a briefing at your hotel or our office with your guide and other participants in your group.
  • Transportation: From your hotel in Huaraz to the starting point of the trek, and from the end of the trek to your hotel in Huaraz.
  • Equipment: We use the best quality mountain tents (2 people per tent) and personal mat.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (option for vegetarians or vegans).
  • All kitchen and dining equipment are provided so that clients to enjoy their meals, including chairs and dishes.
  • Mountain Guide: IFMGA/IVBV/UIAGM certified mountain guide (English or Spanish) for another language upon request.
  • Cook: Cook trained to prepare varied and healthy dishes.
  • Arriero: In charge of loading the donkeys and driving them. (*)
  • Donkeys: The number of donkeys depends on the size of the group. (*)
  • Porter: It is necessary to use porters from the base camp to the high camp. They carry the tents, food, climbing equipment, etc. But each one must carry their personal equipment.
  • Collective climbing equipment (ropes, carabiners, stakes, screws)
  • First aid kit.
(*) Arriero and donkeys are used only in some mountains and only up to the base camp.

  1. Where do the expeditions start and end?

  2. The expeditions start and end in the city of Huaraz - Ancash.

  3. How to get to Huaraz?

  4. By air:

    Anta Airport (ATA, Comandante FAP Germán Arias Graziani Airport) is currently only for domestic flights, so all international travelers by air must disembark in Lima and go through customs.

    • The best way to get to Huaraz is by air, currently there is only one airline operating: LATAM.
    • Flight time: 1 hour 10 minutes.
    By land:

    This is the most common route, with a paved road of 404 km from Lima. Try to book the bus cama service for a more comfortable journey and rest during the trip.

  5. What is the recommended season for expedition in Peru?

  6. The recommended months for the Cordillera Blanca are from June to September.

  7. How many people can a Mountain Guide take?

  8. The maximum number of clients per guide depends on the technical difficulty and the client's technical preparation, and should not exceed 3 clients per guide.
